How To Spend 48 Hours in Milos, Greece
Milos, Greece is one of the most up-and-coming islands in the Cyclades. It's small but worth a visit if you love untapped beaches, crazy landscapes, and delicious Greek food.
If you've ever wanted to extend your Greek Island trip here, I highly recommend it!
I spent 48 hours on Milos last summer and wish I had an extra day or two.
While I packed as much as I could into one full day outside my travel days, here are the beaches I recommend you visit if you have two full days. Be sure to bring sunscreen!
DAY 1
Day 1:
Kleftiko Beach
Tsigrado Beach
Milos is one of the most beautiful islands in all of Greece, and it’s a great place to spend part of your European summer trip. With its clear blue waters and beautiful beaches, this island will have you returning for more time and time again!
You can visit these beaches on your own by renting a car, scooter, ATV, or taking the bus. Alternatively, you can check out one of the boat cruise companies that take you to multiple beaches in one day. I did a boat cruise with Drougas Sailing and couldn't recommend them more. The quality of the tour with everything from the staff, boat, food and drinks, and overall itinerary was perfect.
Kleftiko Beach
Kleftiko Beach is a gorgeous beach to visit during the day or for sunset. It’s a fun place to swim and snorkel!
Visit Tsigrado Beach
Tsigrado Beach is a small, beautiful beach that’s great for spending the day. It's not crowded and it can only be accessed by boat or by climbing down the ladders on the narrow crevices. Since there aren't any restaurants there, you'll want to bring snacks, water, sunscreen, and towels if you plan to stay for a while.
DAY 2
Day 2:
Sarakiniko beach
Hang out in Plaka
Sarakiniko is one of the most beautiful beaches in Milos and a top destination in all of Greece. It's known for its wild, other-worldly planet landscapes - it truly feels like you have entered another planet!
Visit Sarakiniko Beach
If you want to spend some time on the beach, head to Sarakiniko Beach. Be cautious of the sea in case it is super windy or there is a heavy current (like when I went), as you cannot access by boat. Instead, you can access by car, park in the parking lot, and enjoy the area without swimming if the water is crazy!
There are no shops or restaurants on this beach so be sure to pack towels, snacks, and sunscreen. Be sure to take photos here, because the landscapes are truly magical!
Milos, Greece is one of the best greek islands for a short getaway.
Milos, Greece is one of the best greek islands for a short getaway. You can spend your time relaxing on the beach or hiking through spectacular landscapes, but this island also has a lot to offer in terms of food and drinks. Check out Plaka, the main town on Milos, for the best selection of amazing Greek restaurants, bars, and shops.
Milos is a great destination to visit if you want to see a unique and lesser-visited Greek island (though things are changing as more people are finding out about it!). It has beautiful beaches, amazing food, as well as great places to stay. Plus, the locals are incredibly kind (as they are in all of Greece!). You could spend days exploring Milos but if you are short on time then 48 hours is enough!
