Celebrating Six Years of Go Seek Explore
Wednesday, May 13 marked six years of Go Seek Explore! It blows my mind that it's been this long.
I hit "publish" on my first blog post all those years ago when I was home in Seattle after working + traveling through Europe & the east coast of the USA.
During those days I would camp out inside Starbucks for hours at a time, submitting job application after job application, while working on the blog from my bed at night.
The massive pull to start a blog, create, and share stories that could help other people create a work + travel lifestyle is what gave me the energy to continue my job hunt all those years ago.
I kept up with GSE consistently while working an 8-5 for a couple of years (working abroad on limited vacation time), and it is what helped me launch my marketing freelance business when I left that job to live the digital nomad lifestyle.
This blog has supported my vision in so many ways...it isn't and never was intended to just "be about me" or share the cool places I was traveling to.
From Day 1, my intention was to inspire others to travel and see the world, and live their most passionate lives.
Hearing from you through email replies or social media messages really makes my day.
Nothing feels more rewarding than getting a message that says you have made progress on your goal or business or simply enjoyed a post.
The Meaning of “Go Seek Explore”
Choosing the name Go Seek Explore was tough (I really don't enjoy choosing blog or business names, haha) but I was drawn to a title that was actionable.
All three words are verbs and imply that you are going somewhere...seeking something...exploring the world or even your own backyard...
I've always said that nothing changes if nothing changes and if you want something you have to go after it.
Whether that thing you want is to travel somewhere, land a job abroad, work online, or anything else that you feel pulled to, action is required.
Thank you thank you thank you!
From the bottom of my heart, I am so grateful for you.
Whether you have been here since Day 1 or this the first email you've received from me, I appreciate you so much.
Cheers to many more years of Go Seek Explore!
PS: you can see a full recap over on my Instagram Story Highlight (“Go Seek Explore”)! I went through every phase of my Instagram on my blog and showed BTS of my old articles and what I was going through at that time.
