10 Common Traits of Self-Employed Digital Nomads

There are a few traits that many self-employed entrepreneurs who travel have in common, so I created a list of ten that I carry and also notice many other digital nomads do as well.

How many of these do you relate to?

1. We are free-spirited.

We protect our freedom at all costs.

Freedom of our location (to pick up and travel whenever), time (flexibility in our schedules), and income (able to have a business model with no cap).

2. We are self-motivated.

We are accountable & don’t need a boss hovering over our shoulder to get things done.

We are capable of managing our time and improving on our businesses, and we like to move fast.

3. We are open-minded.

And traveling helps us understand that we are all different, yet all the same at our core.

We respect the diversity of opinion and culture and know everyone is on their own path.

4. We are big picture thinkers.

We are visionaries!

We seem to constantly have new ideas on how we can impact the world/communities with our knowledge, skills, ideas, services, and products.

5. We are willing to put in the work on self-awareness and self-growth.

We understand that self-awareness is the key to growth, and the more we grow as people, the more we are able to grow our businesses.

6. We take responsibility for our actions.

We follow through on client tasks. We take responsibility for any mistakes we make and correct them.

7. We understand that money is an incredible tool.

Money doesn’t mean much if our lifestyles are overly stressful -

AND we know that being financial1y abundant with true work/life/travel balance can help us live fulfilled lives.

8. We love the feeling of waking up happy and fulfilled.

Maybe this doesn’t happen every single day, but putting in the time & energy toward work and lifestyle we are passionate about is something we would prefer every day over a job that leaves us drained and empty.
