Editing tropical photos in Lightroom can be really fun as there are plenty of ways to enhance colors, add tint, and give off that “tropical wanderlust” vibe you see all over Instagram.

Based on a number of requests, I’ve finally created a tutorial (below) on how I edit my travel photos with Lightroom!

Should you use the Lightroom for desktop or the Lightroom mobile app for editing photos?

Upgrading from standard mobile editing apps to Lightroom Classic CC a little over a year ago was an absolute game-changer for improving my photography and speeding up the editing process.

I love the power Lightroom (its owner is Adobe, the creator of Photoshop, so obviously it’s going to be amazing) and can easily get lost in different edits, looks, and color schemes.

Lightroom Classic CC

I’ve been using the Lightroom desktop version and also have the mobile app installed, but to be honest, I love the desktop version the most. Since I use my laptop daily for work, having the “real estate” of the larger screen makes it easier to see the changes you make to the photos as you edit, in my opinion.

Plus, you can get Lightroom bundled with Photoshop for $10/month (which I also use regularly) so it was a win-win!

Lightroom Mobile App (Free!)

The mobile app, however, includes the same editing tools as the desktop version, so if you don’t have a laptop/desktop computer, it’s still a great choice.

Oh, and the mobile app is FREE!

If you’re just getting started with Lightroom, you can try out the free mobile app and see how you like it before upgrading to desktop!

Okay! With that out of the way, here is my tutorial on how I edit my tropical photos in Lightroom Classic CC. You can get a similar look no matter which Lightroom app you have.

My blog and “Instagram aesthetic” has been light, bright, and filled with plenty of blues, greens, and warm tones after being on a beach or island almost daily during my five-weeks trip to Costa Rica, Panama, and Colombia.

Enjoy!

PS: My Lightroom presets are for sale!

You can find them here and get them in mobile and/or desktop versions.
