Visiting Tropical India: Beaches, Rainforest, Tea Plantations, and more with Kerala Tourism

Have you ever considered visiting India? How about the tropical part of India?

Last week, I returned home from almost a month of travel (India + a quick stop in the Caribbean on the way home) and was excited to sit down to recap my experience traveling in India for an episode for The Limitless Nomads Podcast!

This was my very first visit to India, and I spent the whole trip in the state of Kerala, which is an area in the tropical southwest of India.

(The location is the closest part of India to The Maldives...though it is much different than The Maldives!)

I was super honored to have been selected to be part of the "Kerala Blog Express" with Kerala Tourism this year, a press trip that is quite well-known in the travel blogging world and has been running annually (except for the pandemic years) for almost a decade! Very grateful to the entire team for being part of this experience.

In this episode, I talk about:

  • How the Kerala Tourism Board reached out to me and what the trip looked like (24 bloggers each representing a different country!)

  • What it was like having 1-2 camera crews filming us the entire time

  • Where we went in Kerala from the cities to the Alleppey backwater houseboat experience, to the tea plantations in Munnar, the Wayanad rainforest, and more!

  • My traditional Ayurvedic spa experience

  • Getting a cold and other "Instagram vs. Reality" moments

  • Would I recommend visiting Kerala during your trip to India?

  • What type of traveler I'd recommend Kerala for
